NATURALNANO INC. ANNOUNCES COMPANY WILL BUILD ON RECENT SUCCESSES AND INCREASE SUPPORT FOR RESEARCH PROGRAMS
ROCHESTER, N.Y., October 12, 2009 -NaturalNano, Inc. (OTCBB:NNAN - News;Frankfurt:N3N - News) Acting CEO and President James Wemett commented that, “NaturalNano is taking a more aggressive approach to supplying Halloysite samples to researchers. We are changing the way we have been providing samples for research and feasibility studies. In the past, we have been supplying samples at a nominal cost, however, going forward, the Company will make small quantity samples available to Researchers on a cost free basis to encourage them to more actively assess the benefits of the NaturalNano’s Halloysite Natural Tubes (HNT).”
The Natural Nano decision is driven by a number of recent successes in feasibility studies which were significantly enhanced by the use of HNT in a variety of applications. NaturalNano recently announced a successful collaboration with Professor Michael King, Ph.D. of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, who successfully incorporated using our Halloysite Natural Tubes to enhance the Capture of Cancer Cells while being non toxic to cancer cells. These experimental devices hold the potential for reducing or eliminating metastatic disease, the secondary spread of cancer beyond the initial tumor site.
